The Faces I Wear

The Professional

I am a digital creator focusing on content creation for social media and websites. I’m working on a top secret project for my current employer that isn’t really top secret at all. But it will really add a lot to my portfolio.

For now, what I can show is from my previous jobs as a student worker and an intern. That’ll be available on request, but go ahead and check out some of my other work in the meantime.

I have experience writing for local businesses with well known campaigns like EatLafayette and ShopLafayette. I have a passion for small and local businesses and I love supporting them however I can.

The Writer/Reader

I fell in love with books pretty young. I was always reading at a higher grade level and at one point my mom thought a suitable punishment was taking my books away. Cruel, right?

Anyway, being a writer never actually occurred to me as a career option. Because to me, writer meant author, which I thought was about as attainable as becoming a famous actor.

So, I explored other options and found a passion for all things creative. Even then, I still ended up in a career that revolves around writing (and a lot of other kinds of creativity). Talk about meant to be.

The Nerd

Always, always, always the nerd. I was good at school and I liked it. I liked it so much I essentially became a career student for a while at university (2012 - 2019).

Not only do I have a major passion for learning, but I have a real love of nerd culture. Fantasy and science fiction books, manga, graphic novels, dungeons and dragons, cosplay, conventions, you name it, most likely I love it. I won’t claim to love it all - there are always pros and cons, but most of it is pretty awesome.

The Artist

Another thing that has been with me since childhood is all the artsy stuff. Whether it’s digital or physical, any way to express my creativity is welcome. Helloooooo hair dye.

I have a soft spot for hands-on arts and crafts stuff. I’ve experimented with painting, wood burning, sewing, metalworking, origami, pottery, music, and probably more that I’m forgetting. In high school I started playing with photoshop, but in college I really started exploring digital art like graphic design and video editing.
